Schedule PMs by time or usage

Generate maintenance at whichever interval comes first

Written by Christy Umberger

You can set up a PM to generate after a set number of days or a set amount of usage, whichever comes first, so assets get serviced on time even when usage changes.

When a PM from either schedule is completed, both schedules reset.

Set up a time-or-usage PM

  1. Go to the Templates page > PMs tab.

  2. Open the PM template.

  3. Scroll down to Schedules and click Create schedule.

  4. Select the Time-based tab.

  5. Select Daily.

  6. Enter the number of days between PMs.

  7. In Advanced options, turn on Reschedule on PM completion.

  8. Click Save PM schedule.

  9. Click Create schedule.

  10. Select the Usage-based tab. (The Usage-based tab only appears once the template is associated with an asset that has a number field to track.)

  11. Choose the asset field to track.

  12. Enter the current value and the usage amount at which the next PM generates.

  13. Click Save PM schedule.

Schedule at regular intervals must be off on the usage-based schedule, and it can only be set in Limble legacy.

How both schedules reset

When either schedule generates a PM and the PM is completed, Limble restarts both counts from that completion.

For example, an oil change PM is set for every 90 days or every 3,000 miles. The vehicle reaches 3,000 miles on day 60, so the PM generates. Once it’s completed, the next PM is due 90 days from the completion date or 3,000 miles from the mileage logged at completion, whichever comes first.
