Create dashboards in the new Limble desktop experience

Track your team’s KPIs with task visualizations

Written by Christy Umberger

Build dashboards to track the task metrics and KPIs that matter most to your team.

Each dashboard is a grid of visualizations, and each visualization shows a subset of your Limble data according to the filters you choose.

Dashboard functionality is continuing to be built in the new Limble desktop; this is only the first version.

Number of tasks tiles (the first type of visualization available in the new desktop) don't carry over from legacy dashboards, so you’ll need to rebuild them in the new desktop.

Create a dashboard

First, create a dashboard. Then, create visualizations to track metrics and KPIs.

  1. Go to the Dashboards page.

  2. Click Create dashboard.

  3. Enter a Dashboard name.

  4. Optionally, enter a Dashboard description of up to 200 characters.

  5. Click Create.

Switch between dashboards

The Dashboards page always opens to the first dashboard in your list, and the list is ordered alphabetically.

  1. From the Dashboards page, click Select dashboard.

  2. Select the dashboard you want to view.

Dashboards are currently only viewable by the creator of the dashboard. Dashboard sharing is coming in a future release.

Create a visualization

The Number of tasks visualization is a tile that shows the total count of tasks matching your filters.

Tiles show a count only, so you can’t click a tile to see its list of tasks yet.

  1. From your dashboard, click Add visualization.

  2. Select Number of tasks.

  3. Click Configure visualization.

  4. Optionally, update the Visualization name. (e.g., "Open tasks - Critical")

  5. Choose your filters in the Tasks, Sites, and Assets sections.

  6. Click Add to dashboard.

Important to know: Filters combine to narrow your count. If you choose filters that conflict, the tile shows 0. (e.g., this happens if you include only open statuses but filter by due statuses at completion.)

Number of task visualizations are the first option available in dashboards in the new Limble desktop.

More visualizations are coming in future releases. Return to Limble legacy to track other metrics for now.

Rebuild a tile from Limble legacy

Number of tasks tiles from legacy custom dashboards don’t carry over to the new desktop, so you’ll need to rebuild them.

  1. In Limble legacy, go to the Custom Dashboards page.

  2. Hover over the tile and click the pencil icon to review its settings.

  3. In the new desktop, add a Number of tasks visualization.

  4. Match each legacy setting to its new filter:

Legacy setting

New desktop filter

Within the Time Period… / With a Created Date in…

Date type and Date

That are…

Task types

With a Status of…

Task statuses

With a Priority of…

Task priorities

Location filter

Sites > Filtered by site

Advanced filters > Tasks With the Following Custom Tags

Custom tags

Advanced filters > Tasks That Caused Downtime

Downtime duration

Legacy tiles default to All Time, but new visualizations default to Last 30 days, so check the date range if your counts don’t match.

Other legacy advanced filters aren’t available in the new desktop yet, such as tasks shared externally or tasks that took longer than estimated. Advanced filters are coming in a future release.
