Set a default template so every new work order at a site starts with the same instructions, parts, and settings.
Only super users can set a default template, and each site can have its own.
Set a default work order template
Go to the Templates page.
Click the Viewing dropdown and select your site.
Select the Work orders tab.
Click the three-dot icon to the right of the template you want to use.
Select Set as default WO template.
Your site’s current default template will display a Default template tag next to its name.
Update the Work order start view setting next, if you want all new work orders at that site to begin with the default template that you set.
What to include in a default template
Open the template and add anything your team needs on most work orders, such as:
Name: the name your team starts with on each new work order
Instructions: standard steps every work order should include
Custom tags: tags added to every new work order
Status timeframes: when a work order counts as on time, overdue, or critical
Estimated time: how long a typical work order takes
Priority: the starting priority level
Asset: a default asset, if most work orders are for the same one
Parts: parts your team often needs
Choose how new work orders start
This account-wide setting decides which view opens when a user creates a work order.
Simple is selected unless you change it, since most technicians want the fastest way to start. Choose Default template to load your site’s default template instead.
Go to Configuration center > Work and task management > Work order settings.
Find Work order start view.
Select Default template.
