Set task created, overdue, and critical dates

Control when tasks are created from a template and flagged as late

Written by Christy Umberger

Overdue and critical dates help your team spot late work by flagging a task a set number of days after its due date.

On templates, you can also choose how far ahead of the due date a task is generated from the template.

Set overdue and critical dates

You can set overdue and critical dates on individual tasks and templates.

  1. Go to the Tasks page or Templates page.

  2. Open a task or template and find the Overdue after and Critical after dates in the Overview section.

  3. Click the Overdue after dropdown.

  4. Select the number of days after the due date when the task becomes overdue.

    1. To use a different number, enter it in the days field at the bottom of the dropdown.

  5. Click the Critical after dropdown.

  6. Select the number of days after the due date when the task becomes critically overdue.

    1. To use a different number, enter it in the days field at the bottom of the dropdown.

By default, a task becomes overdue 1 day after its due date and critical 2 days after its due date.

Set when a task is created from a template

For recurring work, such as PMs, you can create a task before its due date so technicians can get ahead of their work.

  1. Open a template.

  2. Click the Task created dropdown.

  3. Select how many days before the due date the task is created.

    1. To use a different number, enter it in the days before due date field at the bottom of the dropdown.

The Task created setting is only available on templates.

By default, tasks are created the day of their due date.
