Review and approve work requests

Require a reviewer's sign-off before requests become tasks

Written by Christy Umberger

You can require a designated reviewer to approve or deny incoming work requests before they become active tasks.

This helps managers and super users catch duplicate, low-priority, or incomplete requests before they turn into work orders.

Enable review and approval for work requests

  1. Go to Configuration center > Work and task management > Work request settings.

  2. Turn on the Require work request review and approval toggle.

Important to know: This setting applies account-wide, across all sites, as soon as you turn it on. Only super users can enable or disable it.

Choose who reviews requests

  1. In the Configuration center, go to Users and access control > Roles.

  2. Turn on the Approve and decline work request (#212) permission for any role that will review requests.

This permission is on by default for managers.

Important to know: You can only assign review permission by roles, not individual users or teams.

Email notifications for requesters are still managed in Limble legacy for now.

This functionality is coming to the new desktop in a future release.

Review a work request

  1. Go to the Tasks page and select the Requests tab. A number will appear next to Requests to identify the current number of work requests to review.

  2. Under Pending, find the request you want to review.

  3. Click the request name to open it.

  4. The request will appear like a task, so you can review all the details.

  5. Click the Instructions tab to review any applicable instructions.

A pending work request is read-only until you approve it.

Approve the request

  1. At the bottom of the open work request, click Approve request.

  2. Once approved, the request becomes an open task and follows the assignments and settings you've configured for that site.

Deny the request

  1. At the bottom of the open work request, click Deny request.

  2. Select a reason: incorrect location, incorrect team or department, insufficient information, low priority, or other.

  3. Optionally, add a message explaining the denial.

  4. Click Deny request.

  5. From the Denied tab, you can keep the denied request for reporting, or you can delete it.
