Set and change task priorities

Organize work by urgency with custom priority levels

Written by Christy Umberger

Use priorities to sort tasks by urgency so your team knows what to work on first.

Change a task's priority

  1. Open a task.

  2. In the task header, click the current priority, such as Low Priority.

  3. Select a new priority from the dropdown.

Customize priorities

Only super users can customize priorities. Changes apply to all tasks in your account.

Go to Configuration center > Work and task management > Priorities.

Add a priority

  1. From the Priorities page, click Add priority.

  2. Enter a name for the priority.

  3. Click the color square to pick a color, or enter a hex code in the color field.

Edit a priority

  1. From the Priorities page, click into the name field of the priority you want to change.

  2. Enter a new name.

  3. Optionally, click the color square to pick a new color, or enter a hex code in the color field.

Set the default priority

From the Priorities page, select Default priority next to the priority you want all new tasks to start with.

You can't delete the default priority, so set a different default first if you want to remove it.

Reorder priorities

  1. From the Priorities page, click and hold the six-dot icon to the left of a priority.

  2. Drag the priority to its new position.

Delete a priority

From the Priorities page, click the trash can icon next to the priority you want to remove.
