Custom fields can be added to your assets, parts, and vendors to track important details.


Add custom fields

After creating an asset, part or vendor, you can add custom fields using the following types:

Custom field type

Examples

Text

Make, model, serial number, material

Number

Mileage, hours run

Currency

Initial cost

Date

Install or warranty dates

Image

Images, troubleshooting charts

Document

Manuals, contracts, warranties

Dropdown

Status (e.g., up/down)

Field types cannot be changed after creation.

Create new custom fields

  1. From an existing asset (or part or vendor), click Add and edit fields.

  2. Click Create field.

  3. Enter a field name and select a field type.

  4. Select the new field and click Add fields.

  5. Enter the information you'd like to track into your new field.

Add existing custom fields

  1. From an existing asset (or part or vendor), click Add and edit fields.

  2. Select the field(s), and click Add fields.

  3. Enter the information you'd like to track into your new field.
